When a creative powerhouse with an entrepreneurial spirit like Sarah McCredie has an “a-ha” moment, something remarkable is bound to follow. For Sarah, this moment led to the birth of Ailish—a collection of vibrant, 100% silk scarves that blend art, fashion, and personal expression. Her passion for scarves, along with her attention to detail and distinct style, has culminated in a project that feels like the natural result of everything she loves.

It all started about a year ago, when the idea of designing scarves struck her; it immediately felt right. But Sarah isn’t one to rush into things. The process involved collaborating with multiple designers, navigating different phases, and making key discoveries along the way. She didn’t settle until she found exactly what she was looking for.

The result? Four scarves, each with its own unique story and personality.

“These scarves have their own energy,” Sarah says. “People will feel drawn to the one that resonates with them.”

Her love for scarves goes beyond mere fashion. For Sarah, scarves represent timelessness, versatility, and personal expression. They’re a manifestation of her experiences and the places she’s been, as well as her broader interests in fashion, decor, food, florals, photography, and art. Her curiosity drives her to explore every corner of the world around her, turning over rocks and discovering new inspirations along the way. Ailish is the result of this relentless exploration.

If these scarves could talk, they’d tell stories of Sarah’s journey—the cool places she’s visited, the people she’s met, and the visions she’s had along the way. “I wanted each scarf to feel personal,” she says.

The scarves themselves are works of art, with a distinct art deco aesthetic that feels both bold and timeless. Sarah chose 100% silk for its luxurious feel and lasting quality. “I wanted these scarves to be something that could be passed down through generations,” she explains. “Silk is durable, yet elegant. It’s an investment, but one that feels accessible.”

Affordability was key for Sarah. She wanted the scarves to be attainable, without compromising on quality. “These are pieces that will last,” she says. “A scarf never goes out of style, and I wanted people to feel like they were investing in something timeless, something that could stay with them for years.”

Why Ailish? It was the name of Sarah’s Irish great-grandmother, a strong connection to her heritage and identity. Ailish is also her middle name, and Sarah chose it for her dog as a tribute to something she holds dear. Naming her business Ailish reflects the same deep love and care, ensuring the name remains a meaningful part of her life through her creative pursuits.

Sarah’s vision for Ailish? She sees these scarves becoming staples in people’s wardrobes—pieces they reach for again and again. “Scarves have this effortless power,” she notes. “They make you feel put together with minimal effort. That’s what I want people to feel when they wear Ailish—empowered, timeless, and connected to something personal.”

A vital aspect of Sarah’s creative process is her deep commitment to working locally. She collaborates with local partners for everything from branding to her photoshoots, involving jewelry designers, cheese shops, florists, and photographers.

For Sarah, these partnerships aren’t just about business—they’re about bringing her vision to life through the relationships and connections she’s built. This sense of community and collaboration is an integral part of Ailish, adding a layer of meaning that goes beyond what you see on the surface.

Through her exploration and creative process, Sarah McCredie has turned her love for scarves into an art form, bringing something special to the world of fashion.

As Ailish continues to grow, Sarah remains committed to infusing each design with the same thoughtfulness and attention to detail that sparked the brand in the first place. For her, it’s about more than just fashion—it’s about creating something meaningful, something that tells a story.
