Artists Talk at Grey Roots: Lenore Keeshig

Artists Talk! – where community engaged artists share their stories and work.
The Artists Talk! events run from Wed Feb 6 through to Mar 19 at Grey Roots Museum & Archives. These are Lunch and Learns – the cost is $20 for a light lunch at 1pm followed by the talk at 1:30pm.

Lenore Keeshig (Anungo-kwe – Star Woman). Lenore is Wolf Clan, and a traditional Anishinaabe storyteller from the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation on the Saugeen/Bruce Peninsula. She is a naturalist, guide, an eloquent poet and an award-winning author. She was an early voice who called out “cultural appropriation” and she is a strong advocate for the right of Indigenous authors to tell their own stories.
