100-Voice Choir Perform

Choir Camp 2025presents “A Choral Extravaganza: From South Africa to Gordon Lightfoot!” on Friday, July 18, at 7:00 p.m. This variety show is the culmination of the week-long Choir Camp and will feature great vocal music from South Africa, Gordon Lightfoot, the Renaissance period, and barbershop music. The 100-voice mass choir and four 25-voice choirs will all perform.

The concert will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 865 2nd Ave W in Owen Sound. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students (cash only).

The 100+ voice mass choir is co-led by Dr. Elaine Choi and Dr. Mark Ramsay. The mass choir will sing “Sing We and Chant It” by Thomas Morley, “Cloths of Heaven” by Mark Sirett, “Blue Skies” by Irving Berlin, “Time” by Jennifer Lucy Cook, and “To Sit and Dream” by Rosephanye Powell.

The following four 25+ voice choirs will also perform at the concert:

  • South Africa choir, led by Lorinda van Wyk, director of the Woodstock Choralaires

  • Gordon Lightfoot tribute choir, led by Lynn Janes, conductor of the Oriana Singers

  • A cappella and barbershop choir, led by Andrew Carolan, director of Toronto Northern Lights Barbershop Chorus

  • Medieval & Renaissance small choir, led by Matthew Allard, organist and choir director at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (Owen Sound)
