Award winning musician, composer and producer, Lance Anderson’s acclaimed musical performance and conversation about Canadian jazz legend, Oscar Peterson has enthralled audiences with Anderson’s compelling narrative in combination with his masterful piano performances. Audiences appreciate Oscar’s music and talent, but really love hearing about Oscar’s life and the unique and special musical qualities that made him such a beloved international jazz legend. Dr. Anderson tells, in anecdotes, personal stories, music, and a little history, the story of their meeting, their friendship and what it meant to be around a genius and what jazz and being a jazz genius is all about and will play compositions written by Peterson including selections from his Canadiana Suite and the world-renowned “Hymn to Freedom.”

“Lance is uniquely qualified to help us appreciate not only the special musical genius that was Oscar Peterson, but also what it was to know him as a friend,” Holger Peterson, of CBC’s Saturday Night Blues.

A musical experience, not to be missed!
