Music at the Market: Amber May

Amber May’s love for music started at the early age of 3 when she would steal her older sister’s hair brush and sing along to the Backstreet Boys in her diaper! From those early ages, Amber May’s love for music grew stronger with each passing year.
Amber played in bands at a young age, including rockabilly, country and classic rock. She entered many festivals and events where she could sing and entertain, with one event for close to 3000 people when she was just 9 years old.
Amber May shifted her focus to pursuing a solo career when she moved to Southampton in 2020. She has entertained and performed at Paisley Blues Festival, Cobble Beach, Wismer House, The Queens, Come Together Festival, Heartwood Hall, Rrampt Social Space and other venues in the Grey Bruce area.
Amber May is an acoustic singer / songwriter who sings blues and folk style tunes with her signature and powerful voice. Amber May writes songs about love and life, seeking to connect with the people around her and their own life journeys. She enjoys the creative process of taking cover songs and adding her own soulful, earthy and sometimes funny twists to them. Amber May continues to discover the different textures of sound, driving her to keep pursuing her dreams and entertaining her growing audience of followers.
