Honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls

In honour of the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (Red Dress Day), the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre will host a presentation and talk on the crisis of systemic violence faced by Indigenous women and girls.
This year’s event will include a blessing ceremony by Elder Shirley John to open the event, a presentation of names of missing and murdered women and girls from the local community and across Canada, and speakers from Saugeen Ojibway Nation, including:
- Community member and advocate for MMIWG, Serena Wesley
- Former Miss Saugeen (2025) and Artist, Kennedy Cameron
- Community Elder and Advocate for MMIWG, Cheryl George, a Human trafficking and Residential school survivor
There will be light snacks, coffee, and tea during a reflection period following the talk.
