Vaughn Williams: Piano Quintet in C minor

Join us at Historic Leith Church for a special evening of quintets! The first quintet of the evening features two violas, the second two cellos, and lastly a quintet with the addition of piano and bass. The concert will begin with one of the most glorious pieces of chamber music written by Mozart – the G Minor Viola Quintet. Following this, we’re thrilled to introduce our composer in residence, India Gailey, to share her quintet featuring two cellos, titled “Bristlecone”. This work is arranged especially for Sweetwater Music Festival 2025. After the intermission, we will conclude our Friday evening concert with the dreamy and luscious Piano Quintet in C Minor composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Plus enjoy a reception for the entire audience after the concert.
