The $1 Tugboat
November 1 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Did you know that there was a time when almost everyone in Canada had a picture of two boats built in Owen Sound in their pockets? Join us at the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre on November 2nd for “The $1 Tugboat” to learn all about our very own Ancaster.
We will be featuring two speakers at the CWHC. Dr. Steve Briggs will tell you all about Russel Brothers, their boats, and their impact on Owen Sound.
We are also pleased to have Manuel Parreira, the Regional Director for the Bank of Canada’s Ontario Regional Office, as this event’s other presenter. Mr. Parreira will speak about the Ancaster and the role it played in the history of Canadian currency.
Doors open for this event at 1:00pm on November 2nd at the CWHC, 1155 1st Ave. W.
Entry is by donation, but due to the limited amount of space in the museum, we ask that you consider registering for the event ahead of time. You can reserve space by emailing info@waterfrontheritage.ca, calling 519-371-3333, or using our online form
