About The Public Service:

Nova Scotia-based indie-folk band, The Public Service, operate on the foundational belief that sharing your gifts is a public service. TPS serves up high energy indie-rock sing-alongs and a live show that packs the dance floor. The Public Service was born when front man George Woodhouse publicly challenged himself to write and publish a song a week for one year, with the dream of playing them in front of a real audience. At the end of the project, a small group of friends helped him strike up a band, which became The Public Service. Six years later, The Public Service is growing the dream, having now played the most treasured stages on the East Coast, including closing Stan Rogers Folk Fest in 2023 and performing at the 2023 IIHF World Juniors in Kjipuktuk / Halifax. Their debut album, Songs For The Living (2022) , was released under the name George Woodhouse and The Public Service, but the band shortened its name in 2023.  Their 2024 single, Float Off, reached no. 7 on CIOE’s East Coast Top 30. The band is currently working with award winning Producer, Alex Meade on their second studio album, set for release in late 2025. TPS features Joss MacNeil on vocals, Jan Lapierre on lead guitar, Justin Huston on bass, Andrew MacCormack on drums, and George Woodhouse on guitar and vocals.
