Michel Paquette\, 12 years old\, skips Sunday mass to go to the Saint-Amour et Fille publishing house\, where he immerses himself in the latest poetry collections published by Archange and his daughter\, Rose.\nCharlotte\, Archange’s granddaughter and Michel’s friend\, eagerly distributes the pamphlet Vive le Québec Laïque\, written by her grandfather\, in class with the support of their anarchist teacher\,  André Rochette. This pamphlet enrages Vicar Cotnoir\, the spiritual director of the students at Saint-Eusèbe de la Mélasse school.\nThe Church retaliates; the Cardinal Madore Zouaves demolishes the publishing house presses\, and Rochette is dismissed. Michel and his friends take revenge against Vicar Cotnoir\, whose actions towards children are questionable.\nWith the help of Le Matou\, a mysterious and fantastical character\, Michel’s grandmother\, Délima Paquette\, brings the neighborhood together around her meatball stew\, infusing a touch of madness where gloom was threatening to take hold.\n\nThis event is free of charge.

Soon the group became The Arrogant Worms (Chris Patterson\, Mike McCormick\, and Trevor Strong) who have since toured ceaselessly across Canada (and select other parts of the world)\, released 13 albums\, and recorded with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Their song\, The Last Saskatchewan Pirate\, has been covered by bands such as Captain Tractor and The Longest Johns\, and their Happy Happy birthday song is a viral sensation with over one hundred million views of the various fan videos on YouTube. The thrilling fireworks show will begin at dusk\, but there will be lots to explore before that! Grab a bite to eat at the Big Flag with the Saugeen Shores Rotary BBQ starting at 4pm. Thank you to the Southampton Rotarians who will also be cruising as the “Bucket Brigade”. They will be collecting donations that help make the fireworks a free event for families and visitors of Saugeen Shores. Southampton Rotary will also fire up their ‘POP’ular popcorn machine starting at 3pm.\nSpectators are encouraged to bike to the Big Flag and take in the rocking music of Something’s Flying\, followed by the Southampton Concert Band and then Get Back – Beatles Tribute prior to the giant fireworks at dusk.\nThank you to our amazing sponsors\, Goodwill Industries\, Giant Tiger\, Midwestern Communications.\nWith support of the Southampton Rotary’s Bucket Brigade\, we are also funded in part by Government of Canada and Town of Saugeen Shores.
