SUMMARY:The Cigarette Surfboard
DESCRIPTION:Be The Change Film Series presents The Cigarette Surfboard. After a young designer realizes that a surfboard – which he crafted from thousands of littered cigarette butts picked up off California beaches – could captivate the eyes of millions across the globe\, he decides to use it as the impetus to do something more. The Cigarette Surfboards become a platform to spark ocean stewardship and the symbol of a campaign to hold Big Tobacco accountable for their toxic\, plastic waste. Surfing is the medium\, but the message is universal. \nSmall decisions and actions\, like littering a cigarette butt\, cumulatively can have a large impact\, for better or for worse. This immersive documentary provides viewers an up close experience of the ocean through surfers’ eyes\, to amplify a message of urgency and possibility regarding the ocean’s wellbeing. As our ocean faces mounting threats\, and surfing continues to grow\, we as surfers have a responsibility to protect it.

SUMMARY:Fantastic Cinema Club: Delicatessen

Set in a crumbling apartment building where food is scarce and morals are… flexible\, the film brims with surreal humor\, inventive visuals\, and unforgettable characters. \nBursting with meticulous production design\, physical comedy\, and macabre charm\, Delicatessen is a masterclass in tone and imagination. It’s strange\, funny\, unsettling\, and strangely tender—a film that rewards attentive viewers and sparks lively conversation long after the screening ends. \n \nJoin us for a cinematic feast that’s as clever as it is unhinged. SUMMARY:Skydiggers
DESCRIPTION:For over 25 years\, Skydiggers’ friends and fans have gathered during the holidays to celebrate the season to the soundtrack of the band’s distinctive rootsy Christmas tunes and Skydiggers’ classics. What started at Toronto’s Legendary Horseshoe Tavern grew into an annual tradition at the Danforth Music Hall and has since taken the holiday show on the road. \n“We’ve realized that the most moving moments of the season are more than just expressions of glad tidings and comfort and joy\,” says Skydigger Andy Maize. “That there are moments of melancholy\, regret and truth that are\, in their own way\, as much a part of the Christmas experience as any joyous carol. We want to put on a show that both celebrates the season while leaving room for quieter\, more personal moments.”
