DESCRIPTION:Bill Streeter (local historian\, writer and speaker) was born in 1942 and raised in Southampton\, Ontario. Bill is a dedicated genealogist\, writer and speaker\, and has published over 250 historical articles and played a key role in commemorative local projects. Bill’s presentation will focus on 10 year-old George Streeter\, who was placed in the Barnardo emigration program in 1887. \nGeorge embarked on a transatlantic journey alongside dozens of other boys\, in an effort to resettle thousands of British youths to a new life in the British Colonies. Bill documents George’s life in detail using various records to illustrate George’s future and life as a Home Child.   \nAdmission to this event is FREE
