Quilted Layered Rug at GB Arts

June 3 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Quilted Layered Rug
Friday, June 3, 2022; 9am-4pm

In this very inventive and fun class, students will create a one of a kind quilted rug using at least three and up to five fabrics, plus batting and backing. Fabric will be layered, creating a sandwich, then students will “doodle” a design on the top layer of fabric and stitch their doodle through all layers. Once they have their design secured, they will cut through to the desired colours underneath and begin to see their rug pattern and colours appear. Masterpieces will be finished with quilting to echo the cut shapes. STUDENTS MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE SEWING.
