DESCRIPTION
From its obscure beginnings as an esoteric printmaking process using homemade gelatin sheets to its worldwide explosion in popularity, the gel plate has become ubiquitous and it’s easy to see why. Gel plate printing is beginner-friendly, versatile, and fun.
In this workshop we’ll focus on specific techniques like resists, stencils, and transfers to create unique botanical-themed prints using acrylic paints. We’ll then transform those prints into beautifully engineered paper-sphere ornaments.
Participants will leave with a 6×6-inch gel plate and a 2-inch brayer, and three paper-sphere ornaments.
